A grand welcome for Sharon in Beijing

A grand welcome is being prepared by some officials of private groups in Beijing for the arrival of megastar Sharon Cuneta and the 80-member entourage of “Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love.” Sharon, after all, also made a name for herself in various parts of the world. Of course, our kababayans are expected to be present during the team’s arrival.

Sharon will be accompanied by Regal Films matriarch Lily Monteverde, producer Roselle Monteverde-Teo, director Joel Lamangan and supervising producer Manny Valera. Also part of the group are “Eat Bulaga” producer Tony Tuviera and executive Malou Choa-Fagar.

The “Mano Po 6” team left the country last Thursday for Beijing, where they will shoot for three days. Some of the locations to be seen in the film are the Temple of Heaven, Bird’s Nest Olympic Stadium, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Great Wall of China.

“We’re going to Beijing to shoot some of the important scenes there,” says Roselle Monteverde-Teo. “This will give the movie that authentic Chinese feel to really make watching ‘Mano Po 6’ an unforgettable cinematic experience.”
Aside from Sharon, other members of the cast who are part of the entourage are Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, Heart Evangelista, Dennis Trillo, Nicole Uysiuseng and Ciara Sotto.

With Joel Lamangan as director, “Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love” dramatizes the immense love of a mother for her children.

“Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love,” the official entry of Regal Films to the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival, opens on December 25.
