Following the story of a group of friends who are working in a call center , Loving You centers on the barkadas’ contemporary experiences and discoveries on life, friendship, pain and love. Written by Fairlane Raymundo, LOVING YOU is a fresh take on love and relationships as it explores the different ways on how love can enter and affect every persons’ lives.
Lane (Yasmien Kurdi) and Jepoi (JC De Vera) were childhood friends who became highschool sweethearts but broke up when they deemed they couldn’t risk losing their friendship. Though,they still remained close through college and career Lane has always been wishing and waiting for Jepoi’s love all the while. But Jepoi just couldn’t admit his true feelings with Lane because he’s afraid to hurt his bestfriend’s feeling again. Will the two still find a way to say their true feelings to each other?
Polo Ravales plays the role of Tom , a trainor who juggles his life between a passionate May -December relationship with her former college professor Cyril (Jean Garcia) and his fascination with superhero toy collection. Tensions arise when Cyril realizes their striking difference in interests and priorities, making her feel insecure and ashamed that she is having an affair with a guy ten years her junior.
Ehra Madrigal is Bry, a call center agent who dreams of landing her sexy stilletos in the glamourous set of the modelling world. Meanwhile, John Prats is Axel, a taxi driver who hates the rich and prefers to take double shifts to support his mom and two younger siblings. Bry finds a friend in Axel just when she needed one and as the two become closer, they start re-evaluating their beliefs. But could a relationship between an aspiring model and a taxi driver really work out?
Tomboyish Tonee (Kris Bernal) who has never worn a skirt and heels all her life finds herself instantly swept away with the charms of her co-trainee Ryan (Aljur Abrenica) . Just as both becomes deeply smitten with each other, their relationship comes to a threat when Tonee accidently discovers Ryan’s deep secret.
The film also boasts of scenes that were shot in romantic places such as the inviting beach of Subic – Where Aljur and Kris had their most intimate kissing scene in the movie and the hottest dating spot –Baywalk where in a view of the famous Manila Bay sunset can be seen while Loving you characters exchange their sweetest I love You to each other. Moreover, people will find themselves humming and singing the movie’s theme song “Loving You” which was originally sung by Ric Segreto and was recently revived by Soul Siren Nina. Director Don Cuaresma certainly knows how to perfectly transcend the warm and fuzzy feeling of being in love into the big screen.
